Haig’s tremendous blend, which perhaps runs glenfiddich close for distinctive and recognizable bottles. This high quality 15 year old blend is based on malt whiskies from link wood and glenkinchie, two excellent distilleries in their own right, that ensure that quality runs throughout this dram. A few more northerly highland distilleries are also thrown into the mix here. This whisky has been married together for considerable time after individual maturation. On the nose, dimple pinch is warming, with notes of spice and fudge. The palate is rich with honey, toffee and smoke, and a little malted barley. The finish is long and lingering, with delightful notes rich salted caramel that last and last. A truly iconic blended whisky, made even better by the fact it’s in one litre bottle!
